A Multnomah Courthouse Wedding Bike Parade
I’ve been putting off this blog post for a long time. It isn’t due to a lack of time, or energy, but words. I have no idea how to properly express my gratitude — to Alice and Travis, their family and friends, and the good luck that brought us all together. I love it when a client becomes a friend, but I also understand that ultimately I’m just hired help; I can’t be best friends with every bride ever anymore than I can shoot every wedding ever. But when it does click and I find myself emailing them long after the wedding, talking of pizza and yoga and getting invites to their book club? The best. The. BEST.
If I could leave it at that, I would. But I suppose I have to say something more.
For their out-of-town guests, Alice and Travis’s wedding could not have been a more appropriate introduction to Portland. Not only did everyone get a small tour of the city, but they got it by way of bike parade. The swarm gathered outside the Multnomah County Courthouse and rode through the Southeast, broke for a taco-beque in Laurelhurst Park and ended with a night of rump shakin’ at their home in Hollywood.
Wherever the lovebirds went they were surrounded by 75 of us on bikes and pedicabs, all raining love down on them as they radiated it back out onto us, inside and out.
Back and forth, over and over, ad infinitum.
Special thanks to my driver, Thomas, from Portland Pedals for off-roading to make sure I got all the awesome angles.
the wedding is amazing, the settings are amazing, these people in this event are amazing, YOU ARE AMAZING! I just love them I don’t know how to describe it with words.
