Camano Island Wedding
I met AnneMarie while she was waitressing for a number of years at my neighborhood diner. I was one of those weird regulars that came in at odd days and times until I spilled the beans that I’m a wedding photographer, and now here we are.
But long before City State Diner‘s eggs benedicts were even a twinkle in my eye, AnneMarie and Jonny were working together at the McMenamins Kennedy School. This is where they first met, back when Jonny was simply known as “the cute bartender.” One day Jonny finally asked AnneMarie out for a drink after work where she thusly did a double take over her shoulder. And when she didn’t see anyone behind her she pointed to herself and said, “Who, me?”
Origin stories like this fill me to the brim with warm fuzzies; the kind you see written all over AnneMarie’s face when they had their first dance as husband and wife. Because there’s nothing sweeter than a couple that just absolutely adores each other.
