PORTLAND BAND PROMO
Towards the end of last year I got together a couple times with Jacob Miller to update his press shots. Over the summer his band the Bridge City Crooners dismembered and he went solo with his music, so it was time for some new promos.
First, we had a walkabout around the Eastbank Esplanade at peak allergy season. Then a few weeks later we got together in my living room to shoot some simple portraits that would eventually end up being on the cover of his debut solo EP. It wasn’t until after the fact that I realized how Bowie-esque some of the portraits we made in my diy portrait studio were. But despite the Heroes vibes I was catching, my favorite photos from these two sessions were the prism’ed shots up in a tree, where it looked like he was floating on a log in the clouds.
