One of the things I love most about Portland is the library. I’ve always enjoyed the idea of a library, but it never seemed that convenient in the other cities I’ve lived in. They were always either too far away from my house, or had a poor selection – or both.
Portland, on the other hand, has one of the top rated library systems in the country. I can’t remember the last time I even considered buying a book (actually, I can: it was the day Mockingjay came out and I bought the entire hardcover set. Oops! Worth it). You know all those graphic novels Chris and I have been reading? Yeah, we check them out of the library. Booyah!
Pictured here is my local branch, situated next to Whole Foods at Fremont Place. It’s a sardine can compared to the epic downtown location, but I like it. I actually have a couple books that go back next week and I’m not even halfway through*, so I’m calling a ban on all distractions until I make some decent progress in them.
