Elsa & Tyler | A Shucking Fun Backyard Reception in Portland, OR

October 27, 2010

This is Part II of Elsa and Tyler’s Portland, OR wedding photographs.
Part I covers the ceremony at Hoyt Arboretum.

If you account for all the delicious food that was made that evening, then Elsa and Tyler’s reception was way bigger than their ceremony. However, there weren’t any more people present than at the Wedding Meadow earlier that day, and I love the idea of the whole family spending one big special day together.

We lost our light pretty quickly* but managed to capture some pretty sweet moments – my favorites being the guitar show and the newlyweds shucking the corn together.

Look forward to a third installment after we get back from California, where I’ll share all the shots we took on medium format film!

* This whole days getting shorter / nights getting longer business is so not my bag. I mean, REALLY? – the sun doesn’t rise until 7:30 now?! Pffft.

These photos are gorgeous as was the wedding! I am in love with the deer pie topper and was curious as to where the couple got it? Or if they made it themselves? I would be head over heels for any insight. Thank you so, so much!
