Jess & Co. (Part II)

May 13, 2011

As promised, this is the second half of portraits I shot in SF on a roll of Fuji Reala – my very first roll of Reala, in fact. The photo of Jess & Colby is just a few steps away from “the Bike,” and the last four were shot while dawdling in front of Tartine, minutes away from saying goodbye.

Despite all those good memories, this first frame is my very favorite, which we hastily snapped on one of those million-mile walks in the Mission.

Sorry about the dust and scratches in these last two posts. Sometimes, even a dedicated blogger like myself CBF. :)

Camera: Rolleiflex 2.8C
Film: Fuji Reala 100

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/privileged_culture] Thank you! And, you really should just dive in head first and do it! You won’t regret it. Slide film is yummy.

i really, really like this. i have a ciroflex and some expired slide film and i’ve been a bit wimpy about learning how to use it. this is inspiring!

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/deerscare] Whaaaat? You gotta shoot with that thing! The Rollei is awesome and I love the waist-level perspective, but the fact that it’s basically a big metal box poses problems when I’m going to be out and about. Definitely not the most practical MF camera, but awesome nonetheless.

Wooooah I love these! She’s gorgeous. The first is my favorite, the colors, the composition, everything about it is lovely.

I just commented on flickr, but I want to re-itterate that these are beautiful. I love the skintones!!

Oh boy, the colour on these is amazing and perfect!! I want a Rollei! I have a mamiya7 but I am too scared to use it.

Oh, I think the dust and whatnot is charming. I love it. My fav is the very last shot. I love how Rolleis seem to freeze moments in time. Seems so much richer than even a 35mm FF.
