Late Lunch 6-10-2010

July 26, 2010

When I was in Redding last month, I ate at least one meal a day with my good friend Jillian. I had been boasting to her about how, at the grocery store I work at here in Portland, you can take a bagel to the deli and they’ll toast it, put flavored cream cheese and any fixins on it for just fifty cents. I guess things are a little different in California, because we got seriously denied.

But we bought our bagels anyway and took them back to her house, where we loaded them up with cottage cheese, tomato, yellow onion, balsamic vinegar and cracked black pepper. She gave me watered down juice to drink, ‘cos she knows that’s just how I like it. :)

great effect it gives off as well

I love the tones and colors in this. I wouldn’t mind having that for breakfast right now too!

To follow-up on Mega’s comment: "Sweeeet!" (said in breathless Napoleon Dynamite voice).

These kinda look like a steamed egg on bagel (with tomato and cheese) I eat all the time at a cafe near where I live. Mmmm…

Such good times. :) I can’t wait to see you again!

Seriously! Looking forward to your tentative Portland adventure so I can reciprocate all the awesome hospitality.

I’ve never thought to have a bagel with cottage cheese. It looks fantastic; I will have to try it soon.
