Meows from the Past

August 20, 2011

Yesterday I posted some of my first prints from college in response to World Photography Day, but made sure to hold off on the kitty shots until today.

All photos shot between 2006 and 2008. Some of these are scanned from prints and some from negs – careful eyes may be able to tell which are which!

Yoshimi, a feral kitten that showed up on our back porch the day before we left for Christmas break. He was one of an entire army of grey feral cats in the neighborhood (remember Momma and Nermal?).

An oddly friendly Siamese cat that also showed up in our yard from time to time. I think he belonged to someone in the area…

Lindy’s Cat, L.C. (Saying that is like saying ATM Machine or Gamelan Orchestra).

A litter of feral kittens that were birthed in my MIL’s backyard the same summer we adopted Felix. This last photo is of “Bob,” whom I was absolutely, head-over-heels in love with. But these were thee most feral kittens I have ever seen, so that was a no-go.

Bob is also pictured in the middle of the first shot and to the left in the second shot.

Also in the first shot is a fella hanging out in the shadowed doorway – that’s Ghandi, who was the only kitten too feral to find a home for. He’s still quite shy but became pals with Felix once they were older. He lives mostly indoors now, too.

Sue (my MIL) and her “stray” cat, Scruffy. You can read Scruff’s story here.

Happy Caturday!

that is a miniature tiger right there. look at that face!

love the photo of Scruffy ‘helping’ with the art. so perfect.

i’m kind of jealous of all these feral cats you meet in your neighborhood. they all have such personalities.

Thanks Jacqueline! To be fair, though, they aren’t feral – I just happen to live in an extremely cat-tastic ‘hood, hehe :)
