Laugh At Linus

Polaroids of a Portland Musician

The success of a Polaroid shoot is hinged less on ideas of what the shoot will entail and more on the subject’s willingness to completely open themselves up to the chaos of instant film. So it’s understandable that I don’t get to indulge in Polaroid sessions often enough, but earlier this spring Kyle Peterson was up to the task. He’s getting ready to release a new album he’s recorded under his moniker, Laugh at Linus, and invited me over to his new home for a private house show back in the spring. We took a few posed photos outside before it got too dark, but mostly I just played around and let my cameras and their quirky, expired film do their thing. Some photos turned out, some didn’t, and Kyle embraced them all.
