Siblings

February 20, 2011

While in Redding last October, I broke out the Holga and we all took turns snapping some haphazard family photos. Well, that’s sort of true – Danny didn’t take part. He’s too cool like that (wait til you see the shot I got of him on Cinna, though, you will understand completely).

I’m posting all three together because, while I love the photos, I’m not in love with them. I love them because of the faces that are in them and the fun times they represent, but not because they’re the awesomest pictures I ever did take. That, sadly, they are not.

The first two are double explosures (Sara + Lindy; Chris + me), and the last one is a quadruple – a poorly planned (or, I should say, not planned at all) and failed attempt at recreating da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man with Chris and Lindy. I still kind of like it, though. Again, with the memories vs. results.

I really like these! I wish black and white developing wasn’t so expensive. I’ve always wanted to shoot holgas on b/w film but holgas have their good days and their bad days.

I think I remember saying “sorry!” after catching Chris with that face…the life of the Holga is just too fast-paced for a girl like me.
