Food On Film #3

April 3, 2012

It’s been a while since I blogged about stuffing my face! I guess getting sick will do that to ya– not a whole lot of exciting stuff on the table while I detox. These photos are from the last few months of going out to eat, when I was still high on Christmas money and love for the F100. Not that my love for this camera has diminished by any means, but my restaurant funds… Definitely. :)

Ahh, I’ve gotta try Khao Soi, that looks so good!

Oooo so many pretties. Especially those cocktails. I don’t even really like pie and you’re making my mouth water! :) P.S. Am I the only one that reads the blog title to the tune of Duran Duran’s “Girls on Film” song?

I love love love food. And photos of food. As much as I love shooting people and looking at photos of people, I really love food. These are great!

I hear ya! This post taught me the awesomely expensive perfect balance is having well-timed lunch dates with photo friends. You get the best of both worlds, and then an empty wallet, hah. :)

The Khao Soi at Red Onion really is THE. BEST. And if you get it to go you get a massive jug of it. You will want to puke eating so much and still have the same amount left over.

Have you been to Chiang Mai on Hawthorne? That’s my favorite Portland khao soi, but I’m probably a little biased since the restaurant is named after the city that I first tried it in. :) There’s also a little hole-in-the-wall place in St. John’s called Thai Cottage, right by the main bus stop, that has a killer and 100% legit khao soi, too. Yum yum yum! We should go on a khao soi date sometime!

I especially like the first one. It looks tasty.

Dang! That Khao Soi looks super delish! Thanks for the tip! :)

Pie and coffee pairings!!? That sounds freakin’ delightful!

You know what? I almost feel guilty for not mentioning Random Order to you sooner because it’s right down the street from Salt & Straw, but I know we’d be tempting belly-ache-fate if we hit ’em both up at once… (WORTH IT, I’m guessing)
